NW Comfy Cabins was not created by a national vacation rental corporation. Our story began right here in the mountains, long before vacation rental management became our profession.
More Than 35 Years of Loving This Area
Our family’s connection to Leavenworth and the surrounding mountains began decades before NW Comfy Cabins became the professional management company it is today.
We spent weekends camping on raw land, exploring the rivers, lakes, forests, and trails, and making the kind of memories that continue to bring families back to this area year after year.
Eventually, we purchased our first tiny mountain cabin. That little retreat became known as Camp David.
As our family grew, we eventually outgrew Camp David and moved on to a larger home we called Thyme Out.
But we kept Camp David so friends and family could continue enjoying the place where so many of our own memories began.
That’s Where the Next Chapter Began
Sharing our little cabin with people we cared about eventually grew into sharing the Leavenworth experience with travelers from around the world.
From a Tiny Cabin to NW Comfy Cabins
What started simply grew one reservation, one homeowner, one guest, and one lesson at a time.
1. It Started with the Mountains
Long before managing vacation rentals, our family spent years camping, exploring, and recreating throughout Leavenworth, Plain, Lake Wenatchee, Fish Lake, and the surrounding Cascade Mountains.
2. Then Came Camp David
Our first tiny cabin gave our family a permanent home base in an area we had already grown to love.
3. Our Family Grew into Thyme Out
When we outgrew Camp David, we moved into Thyme Out while keeping the original cabin available for friends, family, and eventually vacationing guests.
4. Weekend Craigslist Bookings
Those early rentals were simple weekend bookings through Craigslist. Over time, they became a growing hospitality business built around personal communication, dependable service, clean homes, and genuine local knowledge.
5. A Professional Vacation Rental Company
More than 20 years later, NW Comfy Cabins has evolved into a full-service professional vacation rental management company while remaining family-owned and locally operated.
6. The Next Generation
Today, the business encompasses the original owners, their adult daughter, and her husband—combining decades of experience with a new generation of leadership, technology, hospitality, and local involvement.
Why We Brought Our Services In-House
If our name is on the experience, we believe we should have direct responsibility for the quality behind it.
Professional vacation rental management involves far more than accepting reservations. Every successful guest stay depends on dozens of details happening correctly behind the scenes.
Many property management companies rely heavily on outside subcontractors for housekeeping, trash pickup, maintenance, inspections, and other essential property services.
As NW Comfy Cabins grew, we found that maintaining the level of consistency we expected required stronger oversight, better training, direct accountability, and faster communication between the people caring for our homes.
2018: Bringing the Comfy Experience In-House
In 2018, we made a major operational change and began bringing our essential services in-house. This gave us greater control over training, communication, responsiveness, accountability, and quality.
Housekeeping
Our housekeeping teams prepare each home according to our standards for cleanliness, presentation, supplies, and guest readiness.
Property Care
Trash service, inspections, maintenance coordination, and local property monitoring help us respond quickly and protect the homes entrusted to us.
Guest & Owner Support
Our reservations, hospitality, and owner-relations teams provide responsive local communication before, during, and after every stay.
Today, we manage a team of more than 20 full-time employees working across housekeeping, trash pickup, maintenance support, inspections, reservations, guest services, owner relations, and office operations.
Every department performs a different role, but everyone works toward the same goal: protecting the quality of the Comfy Experience.
